费什伯恩 is the oldest military all-boys high school in the Commonwealth 和 the 13th oldest military school in the U.S. In 1879, Professor James Abbot 费什伯恩 said, “It is my purpose to have here an institution which shall rank as first class to everything that constitutes true worth, 和 from which shall go forth loyal, 认真的, industrious young men (boys) well equipped for the duties 和 responsibilities of life, 和, 最重要的是, to maintain a high st和ard of honor 和 integrity.”
费什伯恩 Military School has changed with the times, but our mission remains committed to Professor 费什伯恩’s vision, to ensure 费什伯恩 学员 are “well equipped for the duties 和 responsibilities of life, 和 最重要的是, to maintain a high st和ard of honor 和 integrity in Corps of 学员.”
威廉·W. 亚历山大,小. (VA) ’64, FMS alumnus 和 Board of Trustee said, “In honoring Professor James A. 费什伯恩’s Legacy, today represents an opportunity to include the Corps of 学员 to embrace, 发现, 和 honor the importance of Founder’s Day 和 the history of 费什伯恩 Military School. 进一步, we see this as a moment to highlight our heritage 和 strengthen relationships with our alumni, 和 friends of 费什伯恩 as we march to our 150th anniversary in 2029.”
